One night last December, a 14-year-old schoolboy was brought to Northwestern Nghe An General Hospital in a serious condition after a traffic accident. In such a remote area where patients sometimes had to travel miles away for treatment, he was facing even graver danger.

However, with the help from GE’s 16-slice CT scanner, doctors and clinicians at Northwestern Nghe An General Hospital were able to provide timely and accurate diagnosis, ultimately saving his life. The doctors and technicians’ accounts are shared in the following video.

The boy is among hundreds of patients who have benefited from multi-slice CT scanners – the transformational medical technologies offered by GE Healthcare’s Affordable Care Portfolio (ACP). By bringing ACP to markets in need, GE Healthcare, together with its partners, aims to bring better healthcare to everyone, everywhere.
